Life offers a lot more
Than the successes you score
For each opportunity used or sought
Many more pass by or are even lost
Seek spiritual gain
Spare no pain
Sustained hard efforts
Make any human sane
How could amends one ever make?
For desired virtues and for God’s sake
Ill actions of the past
Do not die fast
Disturbing one’s peace
Lingering shadows, these cast
Wisdom to right often comes late
But time and tide; these never wait
Divine Mother; grant me courage and ability
That I firmly follow the path of duty
In the service of society and for Nature’s Beauty
Bringing peace to humans; glory to community
To bring cheer to the oppressed and poor
Should ever work hard, undertake tour
To guide the misguided who, in life, is lost
To act as a saviour at any cost
That alone could bring significance in my life
Never should I shirk for a cause any strife
Mother Divine, grant me control
On my mind may rule my soul
My path, my duty I should never forget
Let disciplined life remain my asset
Your time, at times, may be tough
Obliged to deal with situations rough
A difficult patch gives you the facility
To assess your skill; your real ability
Should you resign and feel run down
Searching for succour in the hapless town
You will only become an object of pity
Or a laughing stock in your very own city
Each moment, then, you must use
Creative thinking will tension diffuse
Your own efforts with all your might
Will make you see your goal in sight
In the high turbulent sea
Far away from the coast

Situation worse, one could hardly find
Listless little lasses
Were learning gypsy lore
Funny phantom faces
Were coming to the fore
Singing scary songs
With strange magical notes
Shaking their shadows
With long black coats
Straight and simple human soul
Keen to play his honest role
Relying on what is just and right
That’s his nature; that’s his plight
You think of the opponent the way you are
Such easy thinking often leaves a scar
